Christina Melchiorre is an Adjunct Professor of Fine Arts at Winthrop University’s College of Visual and Performing Arts. She holds a B.A. in Studio Art from Coastal Carolina University (2019) and an M.F.A. in Interdisciplinary Studio from Winthrop University (2022). Her research explores familial relationships through interdisciplinary media, blending sculpture, performance, installation, video, and audio to examine themes of confrontation, escapism, and duality within family dynamics. Melchiorre’s work has been exhibited in venues such as the NASAD MFA Exhibition, Sprengeri Studio Gallery, and the Online Performance Art Festival, with notable recognition including the 3MGS 1st Place Award (2022) and Best in Show at the Horry-Georgetown High Schools Juried Art Exhibition (2015).
Her teaching experience includes roles as a Graduate/Teaching Assistant and Adjunct Professor, focusing on departmental outreach, student gallery management, and technology resource coordination. She actively engages with community art initiatives through roles at the Arts Council of York County and the Rebecca Randall Bryan Art Gallery. Melchiorre’s artistic practice emphasizes process-based creation, with installations like Misnurture 1 and Attempting Insanity reflecting her exploration of emotional resilience and familial bonds.
