Anita Foerster is an Associate Professor in the Monash Business School's Business Law & Taxation department. She specializes in environmental and climate change law, regulation, and governance, focusing on legal frameworks addressing sustainability challenges. Her interdisciplinary research emphasizes socio-legal analysis and practical policy impact, with collaborations in Australia and globally.
Education: PhD in Law (University of Melbourne, 2005–2010), Bachelor of Laws and Arts (Geography) from Australian National University (1995–1999).
Teaching: Currently teaches Corporate Sustainability Regulation (BTF5910), integrating regulatory risks and trends in sustainability. She leads the Monash Business School's Green Lab, an interdisciplinary hub for climate change and sustainability research.
Research Interests: Design and implementation of legal frameworks for climate change, biodiversity, and corporate environmental accountability. Projects include exploring corporate law reforms, net-zero policies, and climate mainstreaming in government. Recent work focuses on Fiji's Climate Change Act and Australia's sustainability reporting standards.
Key Collaborations: Australian Conservation Foundation, ClientEarth, and Victorian government departments. Projects include reviews of the Corporations Act for environmental performance improvement and submissions to policy bodies like the ASX Corporate Governance Council.
