John Chandler

John Chandler is a Professor at the UWA Law School, The University of Western Australia. His research focuses on environmental law, energy law, and petroleum governance, with particular emphasis on intergenerational equity in resource management and sustainable legal frameworks for energy transitions. He has advised government inquiries on resource regulation and contributed to United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) related to climate action and sustainable cities.

Education & Professional Background: Chandler holds a doctoral thesis on offshore petroleum and intergenerational equity. His academic career is complemented by extensive engagement with government bodies, including submissions to Senate inquiries on resources sector regulation (2019 and 2021).
