Jared Clements

Jared Clements is a Lecturer at the University of Western Australia Law School and Associate Director of the Centre for Mining, Energy and Natural Resources Law. He holds a Bachelor of Laws with First Class Honours, Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting, and Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice. Previously practiced as a corporate lawyer at Allens Linklaters, Ashurst, and PricewaterhouseCoopers, specializing in mining transactions, joint ventures, and corporate restructuring.

His research focuses on taxation law, mining/energy law, and natural resources regulation, with particular emphasis on resource taxation frameworks and corporate structures in mining transactions.

Publications address technical aspects of tax legislation, including constructive ownership and income tax law.

Teaching responsibilities include Mining and Energy Law (LLB, JD, LLM), Resource Taxation (LLM, M.Tax), Taxation Law (B.Com), and Income Taxation Law (LLB, JD). Secured $69,750 funding from National Centre for Groundwater Research for Shale and Tight Gas Regulation Review (2015).
