Julian M. Fray is a Teaching Professor and Associate Dean for Digital Strategy at the Northeastern University School of Law. She holds a JD from Columbia Law School, an LLM in Taxation from Boston University, and a BA in Law, Jurisprudence, and Social Thought from Amherst College. Her research focuses on federal regulation of nonprofit organizations, particularly in higher education contexts.

Her expertise spans nonprofit organizations, tax law, and policy. She teaches courses such as Basic Federal Income Tax, Corporate Tax, Nonprofit Organizations, and Estate Planning. Fray advises the Veteran Law Students Association and First-Generation Law Association and coordinates the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance training program.
Prior to academia, she clerked for Justice Gabrielle R. Wolohojian of the Massachusetts Appeals Court, practiced at Ropes & Gray and PricewaterhouseCoopers in nonprofit tax law and employee benefits, and served as a U.S. Army reservist and small business owner.
