Anik Bhaduri

Anik Bhaduri is an environment and resource economist holding adjunct professor roles at the Australian National University (ANU) and Griffith University. He serves as Director of Future Earth's Sustainable Water Future Programme and co-chair of Future Earth-Asia Regional Committee. Previously, he was an Associate Professor at Griffith University (2015–2023) and Senior Economist at the University of Bonn (2007–2015). He holds a PhD in Economics (Transboundary Water Sharing) from the University of Wyoming (2005).

His research focuses on environmental assessments, natural resource allocation, and climate change adaptation strategies. He co-designed UNESCO's 'Science for SDG6' initiative to bridge gaps in water policy and contributed to FAO's SOLAW21 report. He advises UNESCO on standardized national water assessments and previously worked at the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).

He leads global water initiatives through Future Earth and collaborates with institutions like the Australian River Institute. His work emphasizes interdisciplinary approaches to water sustainability and climate resilience.
