Andrew Ross

Andrew Ross is a Research Fellow at the Fenner School of Environment and Society, Australian National University (ANU). He specializes in integrated water resources management, with a focus on groundwater-surface water interactions, water economics, governance, and climate adaptation. His work includes leading projects on managed aquifer recharge and participation in international initiatives like the Australian Water Partnership.

Education: BA (Hons), MA (Economics), PhD. He previously held executive roles in Australian government agencies (Department of Environment and Heritage, Treasury) and worked with the OECD and UNESCO.

Research spans water policy frameworks, transboundary water management, and adaptation strategies for climate change. Current affiliations include the ANU Institute for Climate, Energy and Disaster Solutions and the International Association of Hydrogeologists' working group on economic aspects of managed aquifer recharge.

Key projects include the One Basin CRC water banking initiative and studies on risks in the Murray-Darling Basin. His publications emphasize cost-benefit analyses of water infrastructure, governance frameworks, and international case studies in Vietnam and India.
