Jenifer Ticehurst is an Honorary Lecturer at the Fenner School of Environment and Society, Australian National University (ANU), and works at the Australian Bureau of Agricultural and Resource Economics and Sciences (ABARES) in the Department of Agriculture, Water and Environment. She holds a BSc (Resource and Environmental Management) and a PhD in Environmental Science from ANU (2004), focusing on hillslope hydrology and tree-belt plantation placement. Her research emphasizes sustainable agriculture, environmental protection, and integrated assessment modeling. Key areas include Managed Aquifer Recharge (MAR) feasibility, socio-environmental modeling for water management, and biosecurity surveillance systems.
Her career spans roles at CSIRO, NCGRT, and iCAM, where she developed decision-support tools like the Coastal Lake Assessment and Management (CLAM) system and contributed to projects analyzing Murray-Darling Basin water use. At ABARES, she focuses on biosecurity threat detection through general surveillance programs and national pest management surveys. She has collaborated on interdisciplinary projects, including climate adaptation models for the Campaspe catchment and conjunctive water management strategies.
Research outputs highlight expertise in hydrology, water resource systems, and participatory modeling. Her work bridges biophysical and socio-economic dimensions of resource management, aiming to enhance resilience in agricultural and environmental systems.
