Dr. Angela Meyer is a Lecturer in Writing, Editing, and Publishing at RMIT University's School of Media & Communication. She holds a Doctor of Creative Arts from Western Sydney University and has over 20 years of experience in the book industry, spanning roles as a bookseller, editor, publisher, and author. Her creative works include novels like A Superior Spectre and Moon Sugar, as well as a novella and flash fiction collection.
Her research focuses on Australian publishing, sustainability, speculative fiction, and gender studies. She is open to supervising Masters or PhD students in areas like adapting Australian history for screen, queer literature representation, and exploring misogyny in creative writing.
Awards include the Mslexia Novella Award for Joan Smokes and multiple shortlist nominations for her novels. She teaches core subjects in RMIT's Master of Writing and Publishing program, emphasizing professional research and editing skills.
