Michael Cocchiarale is an Associate Professor of English and Chair of the English and Creative Writing programs at Widener University. He holds a PhD in American Literature from Purdue University (2000). His research focuses on sports literature and flash fiction, exploring themes like identity, gender, race, class, and competition through literary analysis. Cocchiarale has authored Still Time (2012) and co-edited three scholarly volumes including Critical Insights: American Sports Fiction (2013) and Critical Insights: The American Short Story (2015). He is a member of the Association of Writers and Writing Programs (AWP).
