معرفی
Dr. Andrew Morris is a Senior Birmingham Fellow and Winton Advanced Research Fellow at the University of Cambridge, affiliated with the Physics Department and associated with the Nanoscience Centre and the Theory of Condensed Matter (TCM) group. He is based at the Cavendish Laboratory and the Maxwell Centre, focusing on computational materials science for energy applications.
His research applies high-throughput computational methods like ab initio random structure searching (AIRSS) to predict atomic-scale structures of materials, particularly for lithium-ion batteries. By modeling materials at the atomic level, he aims to accelerate discovery and characterization using theoretical spectroscopy techniques. He collaborates with experimentalists and contributes to the development of the CASTEP and OptaDOS electronic structure codes.
Dr. Morris is actively seeking PhD and Part III project students, bridging Physics and Chemistry departments. His work addresses challenges in materials synthesis and characterization through computational approaches, reducing reliance on trial-and-error experimentation.
