Professor Andrew Jardine serves as Professor of Experimental Physics at the Department of Physics, University of Cambridge, within the Cavendish Laboratory. He is a core member of the Surfaces, Microstructure and Fracture (SMF) Group and the Surface & 2D nanoScience Group, operating from Room 427B at the JJ Thomson Avenue campus.
His research spans critical areas of experimental physics including surface science, microstructural analysis, fracture mechanics, and 2D nanomaterials. The SMF Group leverages major facilities like the Cambridge Atom Scattering Centre for advanced instrumentation development, with notable case studies examining ice formation thermodynamics and real-time atomic tracking methodologies.
Professor Jardine maintains active laboratory operations through the SMF Group's infrastructure, which supports PhD projects and interdisciplinary collaborations in surface physics. Contact is available via telephone at +44 (0)1223 337207 or electronic correspondence at apj24@cam.ac.uk within the Cavendish Laboratory's administrative framework.
