Dr. Nadav Avidor serves as a Facility Development Scientist within the Surfaces, Microstructure and Fracture (SMF) Group at the Cavendish Laboratory, Department of Physics, University of Cambridge. His role centers on advancing experimental instrumentation for surface and nanostructure analysis.
His research spans Condensed Matter Physics and Materials Science with specialized focus on Surface Science, Microstructure characterization, Fracture Mechanics, and Nanotechnology. This work directly supports the SMF Group's experimental research on material properties at micro/nano scales, including case studies like 'It takes some heat to form ice' and 'Following atoms in real time' conducted through the Cambridge Atom Scattering Centre.
As a Facility Development Scientist, Dr. Avidor leads instrumentation innovation and maintenance for surface analysis equipment. His technical expertise enables advanced experimental capabilities for the research group, facilitating studies in atomic-scale surface phenomena and material failure mechanisms.
