معرفی
Dr. Andrew Hung is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Science at RMIT University, specializing in computational biomolecular systems and nanobiotechnology. His research focuses on protein-lipid interactions, nanoparticle interactions with biomembranes, and molecular mechanisms of protein aggregation. He holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (Honours) from RMIT University and has received multiple awards, including the Thomas Young Centre Junior Research Fellowship (2008) and the Australian Postgraduate Award Scholarship (1999).
Research interests include studying nervous system membrane proteins, computational modeling of biological membranes, and exploring antimicrobial peptide mechanisms. He supervises postgraduate students and coordinates courses such as BIOL2119 Computational Biology and ONPS2149 Introduction to Nanotechnology. His work bridges computational simulations with experimental validation, addressing challenges in drug delivery, infectious diseases, and metabolic disorders.
Notable achievements include pioneering studies on gold nanoparticle dynamics, star-peptide antibacterial mechanisms, and SARS-CoV-2 protein interactions. Over 30 peer-reviewed articles highlight his contributions to biomolecular engineering and translational research. Awards span academic excellence from 1995-1998, reflecting sustained scholarly impact.
