Andrew Daly-Smith is a Professor of physical activity and child health at the University of Bradford, part of the Faculty of Health Studies. As a Senior Manager with a Professorial role, he leads the Healthy Childhood theme at the Wolfson Centre for Applied Research. His research focuses on designing and evaluating behavior change interventions for children's physical activity and health. He serves as a Research Director on the Sport England-funded 'Join Us: Move Play' programme under the Born in Bradford initiative. Recently, he co-developed the UK's first whole-school physical activity framework, involving 50+ stakeholders, which drives systemic health changes in schools. In 2018, he co-presented a TEDxEducation talk on physically active learning.
Research Interests:
His work spans physical activity promotion in schools, systems change methodologies, executive function in children, academic performance links to health, and child health policy. He emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration to translate research into practical interventions.
