Andrea Gideon

Dr. Andrea Gideon is a Senior Lecturer in Law at the University of Liverpool since 2014, affiliated with the School of Law and Social Justice under the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. She concurrently serves as an Adjunct Senior Research Fellow at the National University of Singapore’s EW Barker Centre for Law and Business. Her expertise lies in competition law, comparative law, and ASEAN legal frameworks. She holds degrees including a PhD and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).

Education: LLB, LLM, PhD.

Research focuses on competition law’s intersections with healthcare, labor, and public policy, particularly in ASEAN and the EU. She leads projects on ASEAN competition law reform and has advised institutions like the International Competition Network and the Competition and Consumer Commission Singapore (CCCS). Recent work includes analyzing infant formula market regulations and EU competition law applications.

Teaching includes modules on Competition Law, EU Law, and Comparative Law. She supervises four PhD students and coordinates undergraduate/postgraduate law courses.
