معرفی
Dr. Andrea Galmozzi is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Medicine and Public Health. His research focuses on understanding adipose tissue dysfunction in metabolic diseases, including obesity, type 2 diabetes, and cancer-associated cachexia. He employs a multidisciplinary approach integrating physiology, chemical biology (chemoproteomics, metabolomics), molecular biology, and in vivo models.
- Education:
- B.S. in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology, University of Milan, Italy
- Ph.D. in Biochemistry, University of Milan, Italy
- Postdoc in Chemical Physiology, Scripps Research, La Jolla, CA
Key research areas include heme biosynthesis's role in adipocyte function, cancer cachexia mechanisms, and intracellular metabolite trafficking. His lab collaborates on advanced techniques like Orbitrap mass spectrometry for phosphoproteome analysis. Current projects explore heme's role in thermogenesis, tumor-adipose crosstalk in cachexia, and nuclear receptor ligand trafficking.
Dr. Galmozzi's team includes postdoctoral fellows and graduate students specializing in cellular and molecular biology, nutritional sciences, and biochemistry. He actively seeks motivated researchers to join his lab, emphasizing expertise in mass spectrometry, metabolism, and coding.
