معرفی
Kosaku Shinoda, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Departments of Medicine (Endocrinology) and Molecular Pharmacology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. His research focuses on adipocyte biology, particularly the molecular mechanisms underlying adipose tissue function and their implications for type 2 diabetes and obesity treatment. Dr. Shinoda’s lab employs cutting-edge techniques including single-cell genomics, phosphoproteomics, and lineage tracing to investigate adipocyte progenitors, thermogenesis regulation, and metabolic signaling pathways.
Research Interests:
The lab explores:
- Adipocyte differentiation and maintenance
- Beige/brown fat thermogenesis mechanisms
- Adipose-tissue fibrosis and metabolic disease
- Single-cell genomic analysis of adipose heterogeneity
- Therapeutic targets for obesity and diabetes
Publications:
Dr. Shinoda has contributed to groundbreaking studies on adipose progenitor cells, CD81 signaling in beige adipogenesis, and UCP1-independent thermogenesis pathways. His work bridges basic biology with translational applications in metabolic therapies.
Lab Activities:
His laboratory integrates molecular biology, cell culture models, and advanced omics technologies to dissect adipose biology. Current projects investigate how environmental stressors and signaling pathways modulate adipocyte function and systemic metabolism.
