Andrea Banke is an Assistant Professor of Theory and Instructor of Chamber Music and Literature at the College of Fine Arts, Wichita State University (WSU). She previously served as Professor of Oboe at WSU for 15 years before a career-ending nerve injury in 2019. Additionally, she is the Program Director of WSU's Master of Arts in Arts Leadership and Management (MAALM) and a co-founder of the Widener Global Leaders Program, an interdisciplinary initiative integrating business, communication, and music. Her career spans 25+ years in arts leadership, including performance roles as Principal Oboe with the Wichita Symphony Orchestra and Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra.

Her scholarly focus includes Music Performance, Chamber Music, and Arts Leadership, with an emphasis on accessibility and outreach. She has extensive experience in interdisciplinary education and leadership training through the Kansas Leadership Center.
