Ande Davis (Cherokee Nation) joined the Southwestern Law School faculty in 2025 as a Professor, teaching evidence and engaging in interdisciplinary scholarship at the intersection of law and cultural studies.
- Education: B.A. magna cum laude from Washburn University (2006), M.F.A. from Minnesota State University–Mankato (2009), J.D. summa cum laude from Washburn University School of Law (2022), Ph.D. from University of Missouri–Kansas City (2022).
His research focuses on civil rights, critical race theory, federal Indian and tribal law, and their intersections with popular media representation. Current projects examine anti-critical race theory statutes, state ICWA laws, and futurism's impact on tribal sovereignty and legal jurisprudence. Professor Davis received the 2024 Achieving Excellence Award from Washburn University, a student-nominated honor, and previously served as Washburn's first teaching fellow, mentoring students in legal writing and federal Indian law.

Davis clerked for Judge Daniel Crabtree (U.S. District Court, District of Kansas) and has served in leadership roles within student organizations, including the NALSA chapter, Rainbow Bar, and Dean’s Diversity Council.
