Elizabeth Kronk Warner is the Jefferson B. & Rita E. Fordham Presidential Dean and Professor of Law at the S.J. Quinney College of Law, University of Utah. A nationally recognized expert in Environmental and Indian Law, she teaches courses in Property, Indian, Environmental, and Natural Resources Law while coaching moot court teams. She previously taught at the University of Kansas School of Law and supervised its Tribal Judicial Support Clinic.
- Education: J.D. from University of Michigan Law School, B.S. from Cornell University
Her research focuses on Environmental Law, Indian Law, and Climate Change, with particular emphasis on tribal sovereignty, rights of nature, and environmental justice. Her recent articles explore tribal co-management frameworks, climate adaptation, and the intersection of energy policy with indigenous rights.
Scientific awards include the Federal Bar Association President's Award (2014), multiple Moreau Teaching Awards (2016, 2019), and Lawyers of Color Power List Honoree (2020). She co-authored a California Law Review article with student Jensen Lillquist on rights of nature comparisons across legal systems.
