Dr Ana Nenadović is a Lecturer in Global Liberal Arts at the Department of History, affiliated with the School of History, Religions and Philosophies at SOAS University of London. She holds an MA from the University of Vienna and a PhD from Freie Universität Berlin. Her research focuses on Gender and Queer Studies, with a particular emphasis on intersections between Africa and Latin America/the Caribbean. She explores representations of sexualized violence in literature, and has expanded her work into music (Hip Hop) and digital media. Previously, she lectured at Freie Universität Berlin’s Institute for Latin American Studies, coordinated projects at the Margherita-von-Brentano Centre, and taught German in Mexico and Bosnia. Ana is also an artist, using photography to visualize academic concepts.
Her academic background includes studies at the University of Havana and interdisciplinary research on global southern perspectives. She joined SOAS in 2022, contributing to its decolonial, critical approach to history and culture.
