Ana Vivaldi Pasqua is a Researcher at the School of Social Sciences, University of Manchester, specializing in urban indigeneity, racialization, and anti-racism in Latin America. She leads the 'Cultures of Anti-Racism in Latin America' project (2020-2023), funded by the UK's Arts and Humanities Research Council. Her work bridges anthropology with art, focusing on collaborative ethnography with Indigenous, Marrón, and Afro-Latin American communities.
Education: Licenciatura in Anthropology (University of Buenos Aires, 2005); PhD (University of British Columbia, 2016). She held a Research and Visiting Fellowship at Simon Fraser University (2017-2019) and currently teaches at the University of British Columbia. Key research collaborations include projects with Toba-Qom hip-hop artists, Mapuche theatre directors, and the Marrón activist collective.
Research Interests: Urban spatial politics, racialization of shantytowns, Indigenous mobilities, and decolonial performance art. She has curated digital exhibitions, published in academic journals (e.g., Latin American and Caribbean Ethnic Studies), and translated Indigenous activist texts into English.
