An Wang

Dr. An Wang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil, Environmental and Ocean Engineering at Stevens Institute of Technology, affiliated with the Charles V. Schaefer, Jr. School of Engineering and Science. His research focuses on fundamental problems in marine hydrodynamics, including free surface flows, fluid-structure interactions, and next-generation marine vehicles/robots.

He holds a PhD (2017) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park, and a BE (2010) in Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

Dr. Wang leads the Marine Hydrodynamics Group, which employs advanced experimental methods to study wave impact on structures, hydroelasticity, and innovative applications in marine robotics. His work bridges theoretical insights with practical engineering solutions for ocean systems.

Teaching responsibilities include courses such as NA224/OE524 Introduction to Ship Design and Ship Building, OE630 Hydrodynamics, and CE342 Fluid Mechanics.
