معرفی
Dr. Chi Yang is a Professor in the Physics & Astronomy Department at George Mason University and a Faculty Member at the Center for Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). Her research focuses on computational methods for marine hydrodynamics and ship design optimization, leading to the development of the SimDShip tool. She holds a PhD in Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
Her expertise spans computational fluid dynamics (CFD), finite element methods, boundary element methods, and multi-physics simulations. Key research areas include wave hydrodynamics, ship resistance/propulsion, fluid-structure interactions, and blast/thermal-mechanical coupling analyses. Dr. Yang has published over 200 scientific papers and led numerous ONR-funded grants as a Principal Investigator.
- Awards: CH Kim Achievement Award (2015), Dean’s Impact Award (2014), and multiple ONR SFRP Awards (2011–2013).
- Editorial Roles: Editorial board member of two international journals.
- Advising & Grants: Supervises a research group and secured funding from the Office of Naval Research (ONR).
Her team’s SimDShip tool is a groundbreaking simulation-based platform for optimizing ship hull designs. Dr. Yang is globally recognized as a leader in computational marine hydrodynamics, with invited lectures at international conferences and research institutes worldwide.
