معرفی
Raju Datla is a Research Associate Professor at Stevens Institute of Technology, affiliated with the Department of Civil, Environmental and Ocean Engineering within the Charles V. Schaefer, Jr. School of Engineering and Science. His research focuses on experimental and computational aspects of marine hydrodynamics, including vessel wakes, CFD analysis, ocean waves, and turbulence. He has held his current position since 1996 and received the 1996 John P. Breslin Award for outstanding research in Ocean Engineering.
His professional roles include serving as an Associate Editor of the Naval Engineers Journal, Chair of the Planing Craft Panel at the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers (SNAME), and Faculty Advisor for SNAME’s student chapter. He has also been a Summer Faculty Fellow at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Office of Naval Research.
Key research themes include wave energy conversion systems, hydrodynamic modeling of marine vessels, and optimization of small waterplane area craft. His recent work explores innovative power takeoff mechanisms for oscillating surge wave energy converters and the integration of CFD with experimental validation.
Publications span topics like trimaran resistance prediction, USV hydrodynamics, and superhydrophobic surface drag reduction, reflecting his interdisciplinary approach to marine engineering challenges.
