Associate Professor Amy Sixsmith holds a 15-year tenure at the University of Sunderland, specializing in Law at the Sunderland Law School. Her roles include teaching modules such as Family Law and Medical Law and Ethics, supervising research projects, and contributing to extracurricular activities like judging national legal competitions. She is a Senior Fellow of Advance HE and series editor for Revise SQE revision guides, including authoring 'The Legal System and Services of England and Wales'.
Research focuses on children's rights in youth justice contexts, family law, and medical law. She previously convened the Family Law section of the Society of Legal Scholars until 2020.
