Professor Jane Williams is a faculty member at the Hillary Rodham Clinton School of Law, Swansea University, specializing in Public Law, Human Rights, and Children's Rights. She holds an MA from Cambridge (1978), an LLM from London (1979), and was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 1980. Prior to academia, she practiced as a barrister and advised UK/Welsh Governments on legal policy. Her research focuses on devolution's impact on child rights, legal frameworks for children's agency, and participatory governance. She co-founded the Children’s Legal Centre Wales and edited the Wales Journal of Law and Public Policy (2001-2006). Recent work includes grant-funded projects like Lleisiau Bach yn Cael eu Clywed (National Lottery £246k) and Project Evolve exploring music-based youth support.
Teaching innovations include modules on Street Law, Child Law, and Human Rights Research Methods. She supervises PhD/DBA students and contributes to interdisciplinary initiatives addressing extremism through dialogue-based human rights education. Key publications include analyses of Wales' devolution policies, child rights globalisation, and sustainable development integration.
