Amy Adler

Amy Adler is the Emily Kempin Professor of Law at NYU School of Law, specializing in Art Law, Free Speech, and Intellectual Property. Her research explores conflicts between legal frameworks and cultural/artistic expression, particularly focusing on copyright, free speech, and authenticity in contemporary art.

Education: J.D. from Yale Law School (Senior Editor, Yale Law Journal); B.A. summa cum laude in English from Yale University, Phi Beta Kappa, recipient of the Marshall Allison Prize.

Teaching: Courses include Art Law, First Amendment Law, and Feminist Jurisprudence. Her scholarship addresses topics like fair use, moral rights, online norms, and art market controversies.
