Dr. Amon Millner is an Associate Professor of Computing and Innovation at Olin College of Engineering, where he directs the Extending Access to STEM Empowerment (EASE) Lab. His work focuses on integrating computing into play, learning, and community upliftment for learners aged 5 and above.
- Education: Ph.D. in Media Arts and Sciences (MIT, 2010), M.S. in Human-Computer Interaction (Georgia Tech, 2003), B.S. in Computer Science (USC, 2001)
Research explores the intersection of human-computer interaction, tangible interfaces, and community-driven STEM programs. He co-invented the Scratch programming language and Unruly Splats—interactive floor tiles for collaborative coding games.
His government-funded initiatives include early-age computational thinking frameworks and coding in hip-hop dance camps. He has served as a Fulbright Specialist and advised Babson MBA alumna Bryanne Leeming's startup.
