Dr Amin Nazifi is an Associate Professor in Marketing and Programme Director for MSc Marketing at Birmingham Business School, University of Birmingham. He holds a PhD in Marketing from the University of Edinburgh and has previously served as a Lecturer at the University of Strathclyde before joining the University of Birmingham in 2021.

Dr Nazifi's research focuses on the intersection of services marketing and emerging technologies, particularly artificial intelligence, blockchain, and gamification, with an emphasis on service failure and recovery, proactivity, and consumer well-being. His work explores how technological innovations can be leveraged to enhance customer satisfaction and restore trust after service failures.
The recent publication trends reflect a strong engagement with digital transformation in service contexts, including the use of cryptocurrencies and gamification as recovery mechanisms, AI in tourism decision-making, and proactive service strategies in sectors like aviation and automotive. His research is consistently published in leading journals such as the Journal of Service Research, Annals of Tourism Research, and Journal of Business Research.

Dr Nazifi is actively involved in academic service as Associate Editor for the Journal of Service Management and Journal of Service Theory and Practice, and serves on the editorial board of Journal of Services Marketing. He has extensive experience supervising undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students and has taught various marketing and research methods courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Before entering academia, Dr Nazifi worked in financial services, non-profit, and tourism sectors across Asia and Europe, bringing practical industry insights into his research and teaching.
