Amanda Bills is a Doctoral Candidate and Researcher in Public International Law at the Faculty of Law, Lund University. Her doctoral project examines the International Court of Justice's use of differentiated standards of proof, supervised by Dr. Lena Wahlberg and Dr. Britta Sjöstedt. She holds an LL.M. from Lund University and studied international law at Université Jean Moulin Lyon III. Her research interests include international dispute settlement, UN Charter law, and state responsibility. She has interned at the Swedish UN Mission in Geneva and edited the Swedish law journal Juridisk Publikation.
Bills teaches public international law at undergraduate and advanced levels, covering topics like state responsibility, dispute settlement, humanitarian intervention, and peacekeeping. She has supervised master’s theses on sanctions law and coached the Lund University team in the Telders Moot Court competition. Her outreach includes presenting research at iCourts (Copenhagen), Leiden University, and IVR Sweden’s Annual Conference, as well as organizing events with the Law Doctoral Student Council and Law Students’ Union.
