Gunnar Bramstång is a Researcher and Doctoral Student at the Department of Law, Lund University. His primary research focuses on economic sanctions in Swedish and EU private international law, particularly their impact on international commercial contract disputes. He is affiliated with the Dispute Resolution group and the Lund University Centre for Business Law (ACLU).
Academically, he holds a doctorate in private international law and has completed teaching qualifications in higher education. He teaches courses such as Civil Procedure and Private International Law (LAGE01), and co-leads the advanced course Private International Law in a Global Context (JUEN13).
His research contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals through legal analysis of global economic policies. He led the project Jurisdiction And Enforcement on the Borderline between Private and Public Law (2017–2024), supported by supervisors Ulf Maunsbach and Henrik Wenander. He has co-authored a foundational textbook on Swedish private international law and published a doctoral thesis on economic sanctions.
