Dr. Almerinda Forte is Chairperson and Professor of Accounting, Management, Fashion Leadership, Ethics, and Sustainability at the Collins College of Professional Studies, St. John’s University. She holds a Ph.D. from New York University, an M.B.A. in Finance and B.S. in Accounting from St. John’s University, and a certificate in Sustainable Design Entrepreneurship from the Fashion Institute of Technology.
Her research focuses on business ethics, corporate social responsibility, leadership, organizational behavior, and sustainability in fashion. She has presented at over 40 international conferences, including the International Conference Promoting Business Ethics and the European Applied Business Research Conference. Her work has been published in journals like Business Ethics Journal, Journal of International Business and Economic Research, and a book chapter in Contemporary Issues in Business Ethics.
As a Fulbright Scholar, she taught and developed curriculum at Rome University. Dr. Forte is also a Vincentian Fellow. Her teaching style emphasizes real-world connections, drawing from her professional experience at firms like Merrill Lynch and the New York State Society of CPA’s. She teaches courses in fashion ethics, leadership in the fashion industry, and fashion sustainability.
Her awards include the Vincentian Fellowship and Fulbright Senior Specialist designation. She actively engages in curriculum development, integrating ethics, innovation, and sustainability into her teaching and research.
