معرفی
Alice Lapthorn is a Research Fellow at Anglia Ruskin University (ARU), affiliated with the Medical Technology Research Centre's Fibrosis Research Group within the School of Allied Health and Social Care. Her work focuses on assay development for anti-fibrotic drug discovery.
- PhD Medical Science, Anglia Ruskin University (2021)
- BSc (Hons) Biomedical Science, Queen Mary, University of London (2017)
Her research explores fibrosis and fibroproliferative disorders, leveraging phenotypic screening to develop novel therapies. She investigates wound healing mechanisms and drug repurposing strategies for hypertrophic/keloid scarring.
Alice’s publications emphasize phenotypic screening of FDA-approved compounds, anti-fibrotic drug development, and in vitro modeling of fibrotic disorders. Collaborations with Portsmouth Hospitals, Mid & South Essex NHS Trusts, and AstraZeneca underpin her translational approach.
She supervises students in Cell Biology and Pharmacology, supported by grants from Guts UK and the British Skin Foundation. Alice is a member of the British Society for Investigative Dermatology (since 2022) and the British Pharmacological Society (since 2018).
Alice’s lab works on fibrotic conditions like intra-abdominal adhesions and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. Her PhD project on hypertrophic scarring led to a patent, and she aims to advance this into clinical trials.
