Dr. Yan Wang is an Early Career Research Fellow in the Integrative Cardiovascular Pharmacology Group at Monash University's Department of Pharmacology. Her research focuses on novel treatments for cardiovascular and renal diseases, particularly end-organ fibrosis. She has contributed to the development of AT2R-selective peptides and established drug screening assays and myocardial infarction models in Australia.
Education: B.Sc. (not specified), Honours (1st class, 2012) and Ph.D. (2020) in Pharmacology from Monash University. Completed a 3-year Research Assistant role before her doctoral studies.
Research interests include anti-fibrotic therapies, angiotensin receptor signaling, and translational drug discovery. Her work has led to patents and collaborations within Monash and global institutions.
Awards include the ISH Best Poster Award (2018), ASCEPT Special Interest Group Prize (2017), and recognition at international conferences. She actively contributes to professional societies like HBPRCA and ASCEPT.
Labs/Teams: Integrative Cardiovascular Pharmacology Group. Projects include investigating AT2 receptor targeting for ADPKD and Alport Syndrome, funded by grants spanning 2020–2026. She leads initiatives on anti-scarring therapies and diabetic hypertensive end-organ damage.
