Dr. Tracey Gaspari is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacology at Monash University, leading the IRAP Pharmacology Group. Her research focuses on Insulin Regulated Aminopeptidase (IRAP) and its role in cardiovascular diseases, fibrosis, and diabetes. She co-founded Inosi Therapeutics to commercialize IRAP inhibition therapies for fibrotic diseases. Her work aligns with UN SDG targets for improving health and reducing chronic disease impacts.
Key research areas include IRAP’s role in fibrosis reversal, drug development for NASH/IPF, and translational research in antifibrotic strategies. Major projects include optimizing IRAP inhibitors (funded by IP Group) and studying AT2 receptor agonists for heart failure. Awards include the BDI Industry Engagement Award (2019) and ISH Travel Award (2018).
Collaborations involve Monash colleagues and international teams, with projects on vascular devices and antifibrotic treatments. Her lab develops biomarkers (e.g., ELISA for soluble IRAP) and evaluates dietary interventions like nitrate supplementation in atherosclerosis models.
