He holds a Ph.D. in Marketing from HEC Paris, a Master's from Bogaziçi University (Turkey), and a Bachelor's in Business Administration from the same institution. His research focuses on psycholinguistics, decision-making, and time perception, with a particular emphasis on how language structures influence consumer behavior and cognitive processes.
Key research interests include the impact of grammatical gender on consumer judgments (e.g., danger perceptions of diseases like COVID-19), the dehumanizing effects of anthropomorphism in marketing, and the role of time metaphors in decision-making. He has presented work at major conferences including ACR, EMAC, and SCP, and serves as a reviewer for journals like Journal of Consumer Psychology and American Psychologist.
His recent studies explore technology-mediated morality, medical decision biases, and inconsistent reviews' effects on consumer memory. He has received the 2023 Outstanding Junior Researcher award from SKEMA. MECIT actively participates in the American Marketing Association, Society for Consumer Psychology, and European Marketing Academy.
