Alexandre Dossin is Professor of Piano and Chair of Keyboard at the University of Oregon School of Music and Dance. Originally from Brazil, he is a Steinway Artist with an active performing, recording, and teaching career. He serves as Artistic Director and Co-Founder of the Oregon Piano Institute and holds leadership positions with the American Liszt Society as Vice President and President of the Oregon Chapter.
His educational background includes a DMA from the University of Texas at Austin (2001) and a MFA from the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory (Russia, 1996).
Dossin's research interests focus on piano performance, interpretation of classical and romantic repertoire, and editorial work on piano literature. His scholarly activities include creating performance editions of works by Mozart, Rachmaninoff, Liszt, Tchaikovsky, and George Walker. His work has been praised by international publications including Diapason, The Financial Times, Fanfare Magazine, American Record Guide, and Clavier.
Dossin's recent publications demonstrate a strong focus on Russian and classical repertoire, with significant contributions to George Walker's piano works. His editorial approach combines historical research with practical performance considerations, making complex works more accessible to performers while maintaining scholarly rigor.

Dossin has been actively involved in professional development through the Oregon Piano Institute, which he co-founded, and through his leadership roles in the American Liszt Society. His recording projects often include world-premiere recordings and first commercial CD recordings of significant works. He has released numerous CDs with several labels, including 9 CDs with Naxos, and his recent performances include appearances with the Eugene Symphony and the Austin Symphony, as well as the West Coast premiere of George Walker's piano concerto.
As Artistic Director of the Oregon Piano Institute, Dossin leads initiatives that bring together pianists, scholars, and enthusiasts to explore piano literature and performance practices, contributing significantly to the academic and professional development of pianists.
