Alexandra Woodacre

Dr. Alexandra Woodacre is a Senior Lecturer in Molecular Bioscience at the University of Northampton's Science Centre for Physical Activity and Life Sciences. She serves as Deputy Head of Science (Life Sciences) and researches how infectious bacteria respond to environmental changes, focusing on Campylobacter jejuni and Streptococcus pneumoniae pathogenesis.

Research Focus:

• Bacterial stress responses during human infection
• Lipooligosaccharide biosynthesis in Campylobacter
• Redox sensing mechanisms in streptococci

Teaching includes Microbiology, Epidemiology, Genetics and Molecular Biology across BSc and MSc programs. She leads modules in Health and Disease, Molecular Biology Techniques, Infection & Immunity, and Medical Microbiology.
