Alexandra Webb

Dr. Alexandra Webb is an Associate Professor and Associate Director Education (Medicine) at the ANU School of Medicine and Psychology. She holds a BSc, MChiro, and PhD, specializing in anatomical education and technology-enhanced learning. Her roles include leading the development of the MChD program's technology-enhanced learning and creating professional development programs for educators. She has been recognized with awards such as the ANU Distinguished Educator and Australian Award for University Teaching.

Dr. Webb’s research focuses on clinical anatomy, anatomical education, musculoskeletal pain, and the application of technologies like virtual dissection and adaptive learning. She has held leadership roles in the Australian & New Zealand Association of Clinical Anatomists (ANZACA) and contributes to the Association for Medical Education in Europe (AMEE) TEL Committee. Her work bridges medical education with innovative technologies to improve student learning outcomes.

Her research interests include cervical spine imaging, musculoskeletal anatomy curricula, and the integration of art and science in biomedical visualization. Notable projects include developing MRI atlases of cervical musculature and investigating the impact of online learning on student social identification and academic performance. She has supervised numerous higher degree research students in medical anatomy and imaging.

Dr. Webb has been awarded multiple grants and fellowships, including the Senior Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy. Her contributions to medical education and research have been published in over 40 peer-reviewed articles, covering topics from whiplash-associated disorders to embodied learning strategies. She collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to advance health professional education through cutting-edge methodologies.
