Alexandra Brown is a Lecturer in Initial Teacher Training at the University of Sunderland's School of Education since 2019. She leads PE across Primary Education programs, serves as year 3 lead for the BA (Hons) Primary Education with QTS, and teaches modules like EDP382 and PRI133. Her research focuses on educational assessment, PE pedagogy, and the role of personal tutors in HE. She has experience in safeguarding, working with vulnerable learners, and alternative provision for post-16 students.

Research Interests: Critical pedagogies in PE, trainee confidence in delivering inclusive PE, impact of center assessment grades during the pandemic (presented at RCEN 2023), and action research on personal tutor roles.
Professional Engagement: Supervises final-year dissertations, supports trainee school placements as a mentor, and advocates for high-quality PE in schools.
