Alexander Bosman is a Lecturer in Tax Law at the Faculty of Law of Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, with additional roles as Tax Law Lecturer at the Kooijmans Institute and Lecturer in Law, Markets and Behavior. He concurrently serves as Raadsheer (Judge) at Gerechtshof Den Haag since 2021. His research focuses on international taxation, EU tax law, and tax treaty interpretations, particularly addressing cross-border tax issues and OECD guidelines.
He teaches advanced courses on International Tax Law, EU Tax Law (including an LLM specialization), and regularly delivers lectures on topics like income taxation under treaties and tax avoidance strategies. His 55+ research outputs include case notes analyzing landmark EU tax rulings and scholarly articles on treaty-based taxation challenges.
Awarded the Mitchell B. Carroll Prize 2016 (Honourable Mention), his work explores consequences of tax instruments under international frameworks. Active in academic engagement, he organizes moot courts and presentations on tax litigation strategies. His ancillary judicial role provides unique insights into practical tax law applications.
