Alex Luksyte

Alex Luksyte is an Associate Professor at the University of Western Australia Business School’s Management and Organisations department. She holds a PhD in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from the University of Houston. Her research focuses on overqualification in workplaces and demographic/cultural diversity impacts on organizational behavior. She serves on the editorial boards of Journal of Applied Psychology and Journal of Management.

Her work explores how overqualification affects employee performance, turnover, and well-being across diverse populations. She investigates gender, race, and immigrant status impacts on workplace decisions and outcomes. Notable awards include the Fulbright Scholarship and DECRA Fellowship.

Recent grants include $394,500 for emergency volunteering research and $370,000 for overqualification studies. She leads projects on presenteeism during health crises and volunteer retention strategies.
