Alex Garlick is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Vermont's College of Arts and Sciences. His research focuses on legislative institutions, interest group lobbying, and health policy, with a specialization in quantitative methods. Garlick has produced widely used datasets on state legislative policy agendas and lobbying populations, and his book Pre-Existing Conditions: How Lobbying Makes American Health Care More Expensive is forthcoming from Oxford University Press.
