Alex Acs is Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science at Ohio State University's College of Arts and Sciences. His research focuses on American political institutions and executive branch policymaking, with methodological expertise in quantitative analysis. He holds a Ph.D. from Princeton University and previously worked at the University of Pennsylvania Law School, American Academy of Arts and Sciences, Office of Management and Budget, and World Resources Institute.
His scholarship examines bureaucratic politics, regulatory processes, presidential-congressional relations, and institutional design. Recent publications analyze lobbying in federal bureaucracy, presidential influence on regulatory agencies, and congressional oversight mechanisms.
