Alberto Gonzalez, Ph.D., is a Distinguished University Professor in the School of Media & Communication at Bowling Green State University (BGSU). He specializes in intercultural communication and rhetorical criticism, focusing on political discourses around immigrant identities and the rhetoric of popular music. His research appears in journals such as Communication Studies and Western Journal of Communication. He co-authored Intercultural Communication for Everyday Life and co-edited award-winning works like The Rhetorical Legacy of Wangari Maathai, which received the 2019 NCA award. Dr. Gonzalez has held leadership roles in professional organizations, including serving as CSCA President and Chair of NCA’s International and Intercultural Communication Division.
