Emi Kanemoto is an Assistant Professor in the Department of International Studies at the College of Liberal Arts, Southern Illinois University. She earned her Ph.D. in Media and Communication from Bowling Green State University. Her research focuses on intercultural/international communication, emphasizing peacebuilding, dialogue, and social change, with a commitment to advancing inclusive societies through scholarship at the intersections of cultural diversity, identity markers, and social justice.
