Matthew Giblin is a Professor and Director of the School of Justice and Public Safety at Southern Illinois University (SIU). He joined SIU in 2005 following roles at York College of Pennsylvania and the University of Alaska Anchorage. His research focuses on police organizational structures, homeland security preparedness, criminal victimization, and campus safety initiatives.
- Education: Ph.D. in Criminal Justice from Indiana University (2004)
Dr. Giblin’s work examines the impact of fiscal distress on police agency staffing, the adoption of community-oriented policing strategies, and the dynamics of campus safety policies. His recent publications highlight the intersection of organizational theory and law enforcement practices.
