Hamdi Yesilyurt is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice at Southern Illinois University. He joined SIU in 2022 after teaching at Rutgers University and Iona University, following his Ph.D. in Public Affairs from the University of Central Florida in 2011.
Dr. Yesilyurt's research focuses on policing, cybercrime, cybersecurity, and drug-related offenses, applying organizational theories and social network theory to analyze criminal justice agencies. His professional experience includes work with Turkey's Department of Organized Crime and Cybercrime Division and the International Center for Terrorism and Transnational Crime (UTSAM).
